Satellite class
Welcome to Satellite class! Here you will find our newsletters, photos of our topic work and any important information about our class. Satellite class is taught by Mrs Kilbey on a Monday and Mrs Thomas on Tuesday to Friday. Please pop back here to see what we have been getting up to during the term.
This term:
During autumn term 2, we will be covering lots of different areas of the curriculum. We will be studying Earth and its place in space. Through this we will be looking at how the solar system works: the apparent movement of the sun; how the moon moves around the Earth; the rotation of the Earth and how that causes the seasons to change.
We will also be learning about the impact of humans on world geography (deforestation).
Maths
In maths this term we will cover the four operations. The focus will be for one day a week on reasoning questions and mental arithmetic (10 in 10s).
Four operations: recapping our written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
English
In English, we will be recapping and practising previous skills, such as: ISPACE sentence starters, subordinating conjunctions and relative embedded clauses. We will explore these skills through a range of different text types, including using description to build suspense and tension.
Important Class Information:
Tuesdays and Fridays - The children have PE in the afternoons, so please send your child a PE kit.
