Gardening Club
Gardening is a great way to support anyone's wellbeing, both mental and physical, no matter how big or small your garden may be, even if you only have a small windowsill to grow things on. Why don't you give it a go and see if you experience any of the benefits listed below; we certainly have!
Benefits of gardening:
- nature naturally helps you to relax and feel calm.
- reduces stress, anger, fatigue, anxiety symptoms.
- builds a sense of community.
- provides a sense of responsibility, gives you a purpose.
- plants don't pass judgement.
- being in the ever-changing nature can help you to appreciate changes as a positive, natural part of life.
- digging, pulling up weeds, cutting back overgrown plants can help release anger and frustration.
Please enjoy looking at the photos below which record the changes our school allotment has undergone as the children have grown flowers, fruits and vegetables. We have very kindly had the help and knowledge of Bourton's Horticultural Society, which has been greatly appreciated. The children have learnt so much and really enjoyed the process!
