At Bourton-on-the-Water Primary, we have a supportive collection of school governors that represent all aspects of our community. Our board of governors, or trustees as we are an academy, is made up of parent, community and teaching staff governors. We all come together to work as a team to provide the best education for all of our pupils.

A message from our Chair:

In response to a recent parent survey, I’d like to give you all more insight into the function of our Governing Body. I am privileged to Chair a dedicated team of Governors or, as we are an Academy Trust, a Board of Trustees who volunteer our time to work in partnership with the school by performing 3 key roles:

• • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the school leaders to account for educational performance 
  • Overseeing financial performance to ensure money is well spent

I aim to ensure the team is comprised from a variety of backgrounds to provide well-balanced viewpoints and considered decision-making. Some of the team, including myself, are parents of pupils in the school. We are your elected representatives and there to present a parents’ perspective to the board during our meetings.

Please do reach out should you wish to understand more; you can do that via our Clerk, but I’m always happy to speak in person either on the playground on the school run, or during many of the school events that we regularly attend and support.
