Parents

In addition to the music that forms part of our school curriculum we offer individual tuition lessons for children who wish to take up a musical instrument.

Music Lessons

We are really proud of the success enjoyed by our children who learn to play musical instruments. All children are encouraged to take up a music, because learning to play an instrument can be both fun and rewarding – and even improve performance in other subjects.

Music lessons are organised on a private tuition agreement basis between parents/carers and the individual tutors; the tutors are organised by the school. We can currently offer:

Woodwind (Clarinet, Oboe, Saxophone) with Rosy Crocker rosycrocker.woodwind@gmail.com

Classical Guitar with Sally Mutsaars smutsaars@hotmail.co.uk

Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello with Richard Fitton-Perkins outtoplayjazz@gmail.com

Brass (Cornet, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn) with Andy Farrington andyfarrington@hotmail.co.uk

Harp with Natasha Hagale natashagaleharp@gmail.com

There are 30 lessons per academic year, with approximately 10 lessons per term, depending on the term length. Tutors will invoice for 10 lessons per term. Just email the music teacher to discuss their cost for individual and group lessons and advice on buying or hiring instruments.

Gloucestershire Music Service provide instruments available for hire at very reasonable costs (from between £13.70 to £26.90 per term) and bursaries are available for the instrument hire.  Please go to www.gloucestershiremusic.co.uk for further information.
